Advice you haven't lived is just opinion

Consulting has a credibility problem of its own making: advice delivered from slideware, by people who have never operated the thing they are recommending. I decided the only fix I control is to live my own advice first — automate my own work, redesign my own processes, and only then bring it to a client.
